\nYou were bold to choose the second scenario about rude student behavior. This is one of the options that intimidated me the most. I can't stand it when students are rude to each other.
\nIn my classroom it will also be a class rule to respect each other, and anyone who disobeys this rule will be called out on the spot.
\nHowever, I am unsure of how I will react when a student is right about another student's mistake. I certainly will not uphold the rude student's misjudgment, yet I might have more trouble responding to the second half of their statement. I think your idea about turning the situation into a journal experience. This is a way for us to open up the floor for different ideas from students (that are still respectful). It also creates a more comfortable way to help Evan correct his mistake. We can support Evan's answer with something related and maybe a little more on target. If we can support students like Evan with positive constructive feedback from his classmates and teacher, we will have a stronger learning environment and community base in the classroom.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
